A year ago

Tällä viikolla en ole ottanut mitään uutta kuvamatskua (vaikka monesti on kyllä ollut mielessä asia, ajatus on vain joka kerta jäänyt pohdinnan tasolle) joten ensi viikoksi on vähän skarpattava ja otettava valokuvia, vaikka jo asun yksityiskohdista tai maisemista ja muista tapahtumista. Viime viikonlopun omasta juhlatyylistä piti (huom, piti) ottaa kuvaa, mutta se sitten lähtökiiressä tietty unohtui. No, keksin sitten hätäpäissäni tällaisen 'A year ago' - throwback tyylisen postausidean - vanhat kuvat, kiitos olemassaolostanne! Välillä on muutenkin hauska muistella, mitä on tullut vuosi sitten tänään tehtyä ja mennä vähän takaisinpäin blogi-arkistoissa. Tämä nyt ei tainut olla ihan päivälleen vuosi sitten yllä ollutta asua, mutta läheltä liippaa, ja muistan vielä senkin minne olin menossa kuvien oton jälkeen - Manchesterin MMU:ssa järjestettävään Employability Eventtiin, joka oli suunnattu valmistuville opiskelijoille. Juoksin tähän aikaan paljon erityylisissä konferensseissa, joista arvelin olevan minulle myöhemmin elämässä hyötyä, kun halusin saada kaiken irti meidän yliopiston tarjoamista mahdollisuuksista niin kauan, kun siellä vielä olin kirjoilla. Vaikka tämä kaikki tapahtui suurimman lopputyöhässäkän keskellä, koin kaikki nämä happeningit kuitenkin erittäin hyödyllisiksi. Ja vieläkin koen - käyn aina tilaisuuden tullen minua kiinnostavissa konferensseissa, sillä maailma muuttuu joka hetki ja vain se joka kehittyy mukana, kuuntelee ja seuraa pärjää ja pysyy niin sanotusti kärryllä.

Muuten tähän aikaan viime vuonna vuosi meni nimenomaan koulutöiden viimeistelemiseen ja muiden kurssitöiden tekemiseen. Meillä oli vain yksi toinen moduuli lopputyön rinnalla joten stressitaso pysyi aika hyvin hallinnassa koko kevään. Päivät kirjastossa tai kahviloissa tosin venyi joskus työpäivän mittaisiksi, mutta loppupäivästä tunsi aina olevansa askelta lähempänä maaliviivaa.

Tsemppiä siis kaikille tänä keväänä lopputyötään kovalla kuhinalla työstäville, tai vaikkapa pääsykokeisiin pänttääville! :)

//This week, believe it or not, I haven't taken a single snapshot with my phone! Which is rather rare. I only just realized this yesterday evening, when I started to consider topics for my blog. The last picture taken was last Sunday which essentially was my last blogging day. So - I must improve next week. I have to mention though, that photographing various things has been on my mind this week in plenty of occasions, but somehow I haven't managed or had time to turn plans into action each time. Anyhow - I decided to save the situation this time with a 'One Year Ago' - kind of throwback post, although I did the year review just before NYE. So, above my style almost exactly a year ago today. I actually remember well where I was heading when taking these pictures - to the CREE15 - Employability Event at Manchester MU. I recall going to a lot of these type of career advice - conferences around this time. Although they took place somewhat at a tricky time just around the final major project work in school, I still felt like I was getting much out of them in terms of life after graduation. I still regularly spot for interesting conferences and attend them always when possible. The world changes constantly and only by learning, developing and observing you stay in the know.

Overall, one year ago this time my days was filled with final project work and work from the other module we did that last Spring. But all in all I can say that I managed to handle my stress quite well around the busy times, and it was all going down 'easier' than I thought it would have been in advance. I had very few moments that I actually thought I couldn't make it in time. Probably because I did full days with work, often also weekends included.

I wish you all currently in your final year of college or university or other studies all the success to the final major sprint! It may sometimes, ok almost on a weekly basis, feel utterly overwhelming, but believe me, you can reach your destination.

I will be back with another post tomorrow - I thought a Spring wanties - kind of shopping post could be a good candidate since I haven't really done a proper one yet.
